Surf camp Chile

Surf camp Chile is located in the lovely surf town of Arica on the boarder between Chile an Peru. Arica has been called the city of eternal spring due to its privileged climate with literally no rain and annual temperatures that seldom go below 22 degrees. Many hotels in Arica do actually have a policy that gives a 100% refund if there is no sunshine.

The area around Arica is considered to have some of the most consistent surfing in the world by the World wave guide. Two rounds of the world surfing and bodyboard circuit and one round of the big wave surfing circuit are held here during the winter.

Arica is most famous for it’s first class reef breaks suiting advanced surfers. But the area is also a great year-round surf location for beginners and intermediate surfers. The beach where surf lessons are held is over 8 kilometres long and receives great beginner waves year round. There is also high quality point breaks to be explored that on epic days allow rides of more than 500 metres.

Arica do also offer some interesting cultural experiences, including a Pacific war musueum and the museum of the Chinchorro mummies - said to be the oldest in the world. You might also want to check out the neighbouring Peruvian city of Tacna which offers amazingly cheap food and various options for shopping fanatics.

For world class surfers like Shane Dorian and people of the international Billabong team, Arica is viewed as one of the best surfing destinations in the world, both for beginners and advanced surfers.

Standard accommodation means that you will share a surf house with other surfers. You will get your own bed and a closet for your stuff but you will share a fully equipped kitchen, bathrooms, living room etc. with other surfers. The surf house has an Internet connection and breakfast is served everyday. This is a great opportunity to meet different surfers from all over the world, to share experiences and have a good time.

If you are traveling as a couple or in a group of two people or more, we can also offer you a private apartment in a new built complex with ocean view (upgraded accommodation). This is ideal for those who want to spend a quiet holiday and prefer a private room with your own kitchen and private bathroom.
